Well, the kiss was nice, really nice, but his skin was ice for a second then he was warm. I just wish that kiss would last longer, but, no, it's like he wants me, then he doesn't want me. If only he could change his mind. Oh, no…I'm a horrible kisser! That's the problem or he thinks...I'm...I'm ugly!

No, that can't be it! I'm pretty! Great! I'm bad at something and he doesn't want anything to do with me. I buried my face in my hands and cried.

I felt his arms go around me and he said, “I'm sorry, Megan. I want to kiss you so bad, but I can't, I'm sorry.” He rested his forehead against mine. His eyes were blue like the sky. It felt like I could fly in them. I said, “Then why won't you kiss me? 'Cause it's like you’re at war with yourself, and if you don't like me then leave before I scream.”

He said, “Megan, I like you. I really like you. I just wish..,” he looked like he was trying to tell me, but, “I am trying to tell you, it's just,” he said as if he could read my mind. He looked up at my ceiling, “It's just…I'm different and once you know what I am and what I'm capable of doing, you would wish you had nothing to do with me.” He looked like he was about to cry. He did seem different than other guys at my school.

Like if he was part of the jocks (but Erick wouldn't fit in that group cause he's not a jerk or dumb or a bumbling idiot), cause he's muscular and tall or with the Drama Club. He was mysterious. I decided to stop my babbling. “Erick just tell me already.” I said losing my patient. He said, “Why would I tell you, since we've met already. Remember that night Megan?”

My neck started to tingle. “What night? We just met today and you supposedly were at my house and everything that happened today. What night Erick?” I asked. Erick moved my hair away which made my neck visible and showed the bite marks the stranger had left behind. “No! Erick, I didn't want you to see...” I said. He touched the bite marks with his fingers which made my skin tingle.

He put his lips on the bite marks making me shiver. Erick pulled away quickly and said, “I'm sorry, Megan, I’d better go...I just can't believe you cannot remember me on that night.” He placed a gentle kiss on my forehead. As he walked towards my bedroom door he stopped and turned to face me and said, “I'm sorry, Megan. Once you figure out who I am and what I do, you would regret kissing me and meeting me. Just know that I'm sorry and I didn't know you until today during first period. But Megan I...I do...” He was going to say something until someone yelled, “Who are you? Why are you in my step-sister's room?” Oh great, I thought. It was my step-brother Jared. Once I got out of bed I heard a yell, “AH!” I quickly got out of my room and I was shocked at what I saw. At first, I thought Erick got tackled by Jared, but, no, Erick was attacking Jared. Blood trickled down Jared's neck as Erick's lips were on Jared's neck. That's when I froze. Erick looked at me, blood running down the side of his lips. He was holding Jared by the hair and dropped him. Jared fell like if he was a garbage bag. Erick took one step forward. I took one step back. He looked at me with sad eyes. He looked away and said, “I knew you would react this way.” I said, “So this is what you meant, you were trying to tell me, but you were afraid at what I'll do.”

He looked at me with bright blue eyes that looked like they were glowing. I looked away and said, “You better go before Dad wakes up and Erick I-I don't want to see you anymore.” As I said that tears fell from my eyes. With unnatural speed Erick was next to me. He gently wiped my tears away and said, “I swear, I didn't mean to bite you yesterday. I'm sorry Megan, I just picked a random house and you happened to be there. I better go. I'll explain later, I swear.” He kissed my cheek and went into my room and out my window. I stood there motionless as tears fell from my eyes. I wanted to run into my room and try to forget this night, but I couldn't. I ran and fell to my knees by Jared. Sure, I hate the kid, but he tried to take down Erick. I pulled his head on my lap. “Jared, wake up!” I said as tears began to fall even more from my eyes. Jared was pale. What should I do? I thought. I grabbed his hands and dragged him into his room. I tried my best to lay him down on his bed. I checked his pulse and found out he was going to be okay. His chest began fluttered a little. I went to my room. I closed my window and locked it. I looked out the window and thought I saw glowing blue eyes in the distance. Out of fear I closed the curtains. I'm so tired, I thought as I walked over to my bed. I fall face forward on to my bed and fell asleep.

Five minutes later...I think....

My alarm clock rang. I smashed my fist on the clock which made it stop saying "Beep." Last night’s events came crashing into my head. I checked my alarm clock it said six thirty. Great!

I got out of bed and ran out of my room. I had to make sure Jared was still alive, so I ran into his room. When I got in there he was shirtless and sitting up. I was blushing, ‘cause who opens a door without knocking? That would be me.

“Oh um...sorry I just wanted to see if you were okay.” I said. “Oh, it's okay...I'm okay. Wait till I tell Dad vamps are real.” said Jared. Oh no! I didn't want this to happen to Erick. “No!” I said abruptly.

“What? Why not? He could have done the same to you, but, no, he attacked me, so Dad should know.” he said. “No, he shouldn't! He doesn't need to know anything! Erick didn't mean to hurt you!” I yelled. I was trying to hold back the tears that were daring to fall. “How do you know if he didn't mean to?” he asked. I saw the reflection of his father in his eyes.

“I don't know, but I know he didn't mean to hurt you. Please, just please don't tell Bob.” I pleaded. “His name isn't Bob, its Dad. He bit you, didn't he? He's controlling you, Megan! You need to stop seeing him!” said Jared holding me down by my shoulders. “No! He did not bite me, and how am I supposed to not see him? We aren't even going out and we’re going to the same school! I don’t have to listen to you!” I said pushing him away from me. I went out of his room and got ready for school.

A few minutes later...

I went downstairs. “Bye, I'm off to school!” I yelled and went out the door before they told me stuff about Jared saying stuff about Erick. I got in my car and took off. I stopped at a red light. Memories of last night flooded into my head once more.

Everything else and including the kiss. I'm so stupid! Gosh! Now he probably won't talk to me. I can't believe I told him I didn't want to see him anymore.

The light turned green. I drove and headed for school. I got to the school parking lot and parked my car. Not too far away, I saw Erick. He was wearing a gray cotton shirt and over it was a black leather jacket; he was wearing black jeans with black leather boots.

I guess either they haven't given him his uniform or he controlled their minds. He smiled as her stared at me. “Hey,” said a voice in my head. “Is that you, Erick?” I asked in thought. “Maybe what if it's not Erick?” said the voice as Erick walked towards me.

Who are you?” I asked in thought. Erick stood in front of me and said, “It's me.” We stood there in silence. “You’re paler than usual.” I said, like a complete moron. “Yeah, I haven't eaten yet,” he said.

“Look, Erick...I'm sorry for saying I didn't want to see you anymore. I was in shock and I was scared, but I'm trying to say that I do want to see you.” I said. “You still want to see me, even if I'm a monster?” he asked in my mind. “Of course I do, you’re you, Erick, I...I love you.” I said, loud enough for only us to hear. “I love you too, Megan.” said Erick. He pulled me close to him and leaned his head so our lips touched.

His lips were moist and soft. He was cold against my body, but then a few seconds passed and he was warm. He wrapped his arms around me. I wrapped my arms around his neck, but in the process I had to tip toe to reach his lips. Well, he was two or three inches taller than me.

His arms tightened against me as we kissed, it was like our lips were meant for each other ‘cause our lips were molded together perfectly. He accidently bit my lip and pulled away. “Megan, I'm sorry...” he began to say, but I put my finger on his lips and said, “Its okay. I want you to drink my blood.” Thank god I said that in a whisper. “Are you sure?” he asked.

“Yes.” I said as I pulled him closer to me. He looked worried. “It's okay, I swear,” I said, trying to reassuring him. He put his lips on mine. “I love you so much.” he said in my mind.

I felt my blood go into his mouth. He held me tighter. I heard a moan and pulled away just a little. “Did you just moan?” I asked in thought. “Um, yeah, sorry if I freaked you out.” he said in my mind.

No, it’s okay. I think it's kind of cute.” I said in thought as I blushed a bit. He smiled at me. Then we went back to making out. Then the bell rang. We both let go of each other.

“Shit!” I said, outraged. “Come on, Meg, that won't be the last time we'll be making out.” he said teasingly. “It was great, but that stupid bell,” I said with a pout. Erick just smiled as he shook his head. He took my hand in his and we went inside the school heading to first period.
