The other day I was thinking about who I think would make the perfect Macon and I narrowed it down to 2 choices. Johnny Depp and Rober Downey Jr. Which one would make the better Macon?

I made a post of my choices for Macon.

Between your two choices, I'd say Robert Downey Jr.

I think Johnny would be better because he has played darker roles. I don't know if anyone else would agree with me, but it's just my opinion.

Johnny Depp would be better

JOHNNY DEPP! JOHHNY DEPP! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! JOHNNY JOHNNY JOHNNY JOHNNY IT HAS RO BE JOHNNY DEPP! GO FOR JOHNNY GO FOR JOHNNYY!!!!!!!!!

Johnny Depp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just to be logical here though, Johnny Depp is one of the highest payed actors around, and Robert Downey Jr. is a big A-lister. So probably, the chances of them being in Beautiful Creatures are slim, but I do think they would be a good Macon though.

I think that Johnny Depp would not be a good choice because he is not as sophisticated as Robert Downey

Ex. Johnny was not supposed to be crazy and all dark in pirates of the caribbean. He wasn't even supposed to hav the dreadlocks
He said he would not do the movie if he couldn't act like himself

Robert Downey would take the role the way it is and actually stick to character and be sophisticated like Macon
Ps. No offense to Johnny
I still love him as an actor!!

Robert Downey Jr. ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Robert Downey Jr. Definately! They are both great actors but I think visual Robert Downey Jr. Is more of what I pictured then again some of the roles Johnny Depp has pulled off are all different yet he fits them all so hmmm thats actually a really tough question but yeah I'm gonna stick with Robert Downey Jr.

oooooo...thats a tough one....I would have to go with Robert Downery Jr.....

I would go with Robert Downey Jr. !!!

Keifer Sutherland with Donald Sutherland as Abraham.  As it is, the casting shows that they have no real vision toward following the trajectory of the book.  Ethan's mom and dad were around the same age as Macon.  Though since Ethans's mom died she stopped aging.  There is no real need to use A list actors if the script is solidly in touch with the books, the story will carry through.  If they junk the story the A listers will not be enough to make the movie a success.
