what do you guys think about the cast of beautiful creatures...

Well im really happy that this amazing book is going to be made into a movie. With its inmensity of fans it must be really hard on the cast and the producing team, to do its best to stay with the book and please the fans. The pressure is on them.We fans all have our dream cast that we think would do a great job. Do you guys think they made the right cast choice. Give any opinion you have on the movie making.

Many discussions on this already. Everyone is upset that Ethan is not tall, because the book said 6'2". The actor is the same height as the actress who plays Lena. The actress who plays Lena does not seem to have had her appearance altered for the film (based on tr sneak peek, she does not have green eyes and black hair. I agree that it is ridiculous because that somehow is her "epithet" on the book. It's like casting someone to play Athena in a Greek movie, and not giving her grey eyes).
Ridley is supposed to have blond hair with pink streaks, bier I have yet to see the actress playing her change that too. Link is ok, but I am not sure how they are going to beef him up and make him look hunky if they ever make a chaos film. Macon is ok, but I imagined a bit more Cary Grant-ish looking character.
Mitchell Wate and Amma - spot on. Emma Thompson as Mrs. Lincoln, I don't know.  She looks more like dr. Ashcroft to me, and it baffles me that on imdb, there is no Dr. Ashcroft. Emily, who is supposed to be Savannah's second string, looks hotter in the movie than savannah. Aunt Del, perfect. There is no Reece or Ryan, but there are all these random Duchannes ... Nor are there any signs of the sisters (Ethan's three great aunts), and hunting.  ... Just some of my rants.

But of course, this is all judging by appearance since there haven't been snippets of acting yet. To me, the physical appearances are a big part of the film. It means the casting people really invested time to find the perfect people who, not only fit the part, but look like the descriptions in the book. The HP films were really good, even of the main characters kind of sucked acting, because they looked exactly like how I pictured them. But then again, maybe these actors are so good theyd make me look past all the physical discrepancies.

im upset about the casting for Lena and Ethan( sorry but they suck). Amma, Link, Larkin, Emily they're alright. Who's playing Marian? They're adding extra people thats wasn't even mention in the book. This was supposed to be a southern gothic romance not a messed up harry potter.

I am not of fan of the people they cast, but is that the whole reason we all love the books? Because he's tall, because she has long dark curly hair, because of how they look?

It would be different if they cast a bunny for Lena and a camel for Ethan....but, doesn't anyone else agree?

Well, of course the physical appearances are not the main reason we like the book, but you have to admit, it is a big part of what made them be the way they are. Ethan was really tall, hence he was in th basketball team, thus making him part of the "in" crowd. The whole time, they kept showing you how he felt about falling out of that crowd. As for Lena, here green eyes and black hair became a distinguishing factor for her. Sometimes, Ethan wouldn't even say I was her; he would just say "green eyes and black hair." like I said before, it is like casting someone for the role of Athena, and who is not either naturally grey-eyed, or wearing grey contacts. You know, grey-eyed Athena!?!

Kami and Margie went through the trouble of emphasizing Lena's green eyes and black hair. That is what we all picture. So for someone to be cast without these qualities, we think "hey! That's not Lena!!!" it's like if you were friends with someone on the Internet, and they send you a picture. Then you eventually meet and they look nothing like they did in the picture. Well, you would feel like you were hoodwinked, wouldn't you?

But you know, we haven't seen actual clips with acting so it might make sense why they picked those actors. The books are very very dear to us. so any time they sway from how the book was written, we are bothered by it. I guess I just gives us the impression that the casting crew didn't take the time to find people that not only fit the part, but look it. It sends a preliminary vibe of "did they even read the book?!?"

It bothered me at one point, ESPECIALLY Ethan, mostly because he looked better fit to play a thirdy year old than a sixteen year old boy, but I am praying for good acting.

One thing that is bothering me is that I think they might not give her green eyes, which would be so stupid because that is a big factor! When one of her eyes turns gold whats going to happen?

your todaly right... when we read the book we got to WHO Ethan was and loved it we didnt really get to know WHAT he looked like. But still the cast should of been better and i pray for very good acting. When i watched the making of one scene in movie, i realised that ethan and lena have this british accent or are british  ( but i think in the reall movie theyll talk in a american accent) and i thought it would be so ironic if the girl casted for Liv was an american speaking in a british accent. =p
