I just have to get this out there... I was horrified by the movie! Why even bother naming a movie after a book if they are going to change EVERYTHING!?!?!?! I am highly disappointed in the writing and the directing and I kind of just want to cry.... :(

Yes! I'm so sorry, but I have to agree. I am IN LOVE with the series and I think they are the greatest books on the planet but this movie literally gave them a bad name. The main characters were ditzy and unlikeable and they didn't have the intense connection that they have in the books. The plot line was terrible and the rest of the characters were flat beyond belief. Horrible scenes were added and wonderful scenes were deleted. It got rid of the most important assets of the book, (i.e. how Lena and Ethan can kelt and how Ethan can't touch Lena because she is a Caster and Caster and mortals cannot be together). They put in stuff that weren't figured out until the next book,(ex: how Macon and Lila were together and how Lena was claimed both dark and light at the end of the Beautiful Darkness). And the what I think was the "sex scene" between Ethan and Lena in the car? Stupid, tacky and completely unlike them! The ending was terrible and had nothing to do with what happened in the book.
If I never read the books and was a idiotic person in love with the idea of love, I probably would have liked the movie and it probably would be considered good, but since I have a mind and good judgment of books and movies, the movie was awful and I would recommend the book, but NEVER that movie.
My family thought it was great but, I literally did cry after I saw it.

wow i hate it already and i didn't even watch it but how you described it, I HATE IT! Really a sex scene? You know what I liked about Ethan and Lena in the book is that in their romance they didn't even discussed about sex, like other romance novels. I knew the movie was going to be stupid.

I have to agree...I was HIGHLY disappointed as well...  :/

The way I look at it, if I pretend i never read the books & think of it as its own thing, it wasn't too bad.

But, being someone who's obsessed with the series ,it about killed me watching it. I hate all the important things left out. Ethan & Lena being able to touch, none of the kelting, the fact that Ethan forgets about Lena & then he almost oges off to college...Marian being left out completely...& so much more.

I  AGREE WITH ALL OF YOU!  I haven't seen it but I don't want to anymore! I saw it on the internet, the changes and I cried!! It's not the same story anymore! It's not the same Ethan, Lena, Amma, Marain, Macon, and Ridley I fell in love with! I just want to die under a rock now...

It has a sex scene in it?!!! WTF? That was one thing I loved about it! No sex! Oh my God... I am going to bang my head on the wall then shoot myself...

Totally agree on the next sex!SO DESPICABLE!

I hate this movie and I don't even want to watch it anymore! Ethan is suppose to be cute tall and lean and lena isn't suppose to have an accent because in the book it says she moves around a lot and where is MARIAN?! Ridley is suppose to be hot instead she's not. I hate how they change things, why even call it beautiful creatures, there's nothing beautiful about the movie! Ethan isn't suppose to undress lena in anyway, their relationship is suppose to be pure! Really kami, really margie? I know the authors don't have any power in the making of the movie, but they could at least do something to not disappoint they're fans!

it was funny and it was a good movie but it was absolutely nothing like the movie. i thought i was going to cry because it was so incorrect

its not that bad! and they couldnt do anything about it even if they wanted too. the movie was great but i dont think they should eve cal it beautiful creatures because it is obviously not based on the book

In my opinion, they got rid of Amma and changed Marian's name to Amma. They are both so important I don't understand how they could combine them into one character!!! I really missed Amma, she is such a great character and for them to just get rid of her personality--it made me want to cry! And the sex scene--I literally screamed in the theater!! Just no...NO! I really can't believe that Kami and Margaret sold out just for a movie deal. I don't know about you guys, but I'm just going to pretend the movie never happened!

I also agree with all of u my friend said she watched it and it wasn't that good. no one is the same anymore..:'(

The movie was alright but I really hate how it ended... It was good for Hollywood that's all I really have to say. There was even this extra thing where it talked to the directors they said it was purposely made to NOT match the book which I understand why. They did a good job putting it all together they could have changed the end of the movie so it could fit better but overall it was ok resembling the book. It was very funny with Macon and Ethan I really didn't like some choices about the kelting though. OK I"M DONE RANTING
